Bhubaneswar(SDM): Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Balasore district of Odisha, marking the triumph of good over evil. Thousands of residents and visitors from nearby rural areas gathered at the city’s well-known ITI Ground to witness the grand Ravan Dahan ceremony.
As evening fell, the ITI Ground resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” The organising committee had made elaborate arrangements for the event. Before the giant effigy of Ravan was set ablaze, a spectacular fireworks display illuminated the night sky, delighting spectators of all ages. The effigy was then set on fire at the scheduled auspicious time, drawing cheers from the large crowd gathered at the venue.
The district administration and local police maintained heightened security to ensure peace and public safety throughout the celebrations. Security arrangements were strengthened at the ITI Ground and along surrounding roads to manage the large gathering and maintain smooth movement of people.
The Ravan Dahan ceremony marked the culmination of the Sharadiya Durga Puja and Vijayadashami celebrations in Balasore, with festivities concluding in a peaceful atmosphere.
