Bhubaneswar(SDM): Four-time MLA and senior BJP leader Mohan Charan Majhi has been declared as the party’s choice as the new Chief Minister of Odisha. KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will be the Deputy Chief Ministers. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislature party in Bhubaneswar, a week after the party stormed to power in the state, paving the way for the formation of the maiden BJP government in Odisha. Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Bhupender Yadav were present at the meeting. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for June 12.
As the new Chief Minister, Majhi is expected to focus on a range of issues including economic development, infrastructure improvements, and social welfare programs. His tenure will be closely watched for changes in policy direction and governance style compared to his predecessor.
